Books are Back for Fulton County Readers

The Fulton County Library System launched its new curbside services on Wednesday, July 1.

Now residents with a library card can pick out a book from a branch online, place it on hold, and then travel to that location for pickup. Also, those with library books and materials at home can begin returning those materials.

County libraries remain closed for typical in-branch services, but items placed on hold are available for pickup 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at designated branches.

While the Buckhead Library remains closed for renovations, the nearest participating library is the Peachtree branch at 1315 Peachtree St NE. You can call the desk there at 404-885-7830.

And don’t have a library card? That’s easy: Just fill out this form. If you have a Kindle or other e-book reader, you can check out hundreds of books online for free.

In addition to curbside services, the Library System’s Ask a Librarian live assistance site is available for extended hours Monday –Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. During the weekend, you can chat Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. or on Sunday between 2 - 6 p.m.

There are lots of Virtual Programming options available, including book clubs, cooking programs, and fitness classes. Announcements for these are on the library’s Twitter channel @fulcolibrary and in live feeds posted to its Facebook channel.
