City Changes Solid Waste Pickup Schedule
Recycling, Yard Waste move to Alternate Weeks
Dear Neighbor,
Officials with the City of Atlanta's Department of Public Works decided to make a change to our trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup schedule.
Here's what we know, plus an infographic to help:
- Household trash pickup will continue every week as normal.
- Starting Monday, February 15, recycling will be collected on alternating weeks. This will be the plan for the next 90 days at least.
- Starting Monday, February 22, regular yard trimmings will only be collected on the first and third week of every month.
- Remember to schedule bulk item pickup for large items, furniture, tree limbs, 20+ bags of yard trimmings, etc. Just call ATL311 or use the app, available for Apple and Android devices.
Future schedule changes “will be made based on the number of COVID-19 cases experienced by the Department of Public Works," which appears to be the cause of this change.
More details appear in the infographic below. Learn more and set a reminder for the new collection schedule at www.atlantaga.gov/solidwaste, or call ATL311 at 404-546-0311.
